Donald Trump is widely regarded as the most temperamental and moody president in American history. Trump has always pursued an unpredictable foreign policy — confusing and contradictory at every turn. He has held negotiations with Iran one day and announced sanctions the next. His erratic nature has created problems for the Middle East and the world at large. All his foreign policy dealings — including Lebanon, Palestine, and Iran — require other countries to remain vigilant and cautious. Pakistan too must carefully follow developments beyond its borders. The American president’s arrogant and erratic policies, built on the foundation of self-interest, have always necessitated balance and engagement at the global level.
