Washington, Aug 18, 2026 – DailyToday
US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu share the same long-term goal for Gaza, but their approach on how to get there is “sharply different,” according to Rob Arlett, Delaware state chairman for Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Speaking in a recent interview, Arlett revealed that while both leaders are aligned on the “ultimate outcome” for the Gaza Strip, they remain divided over the military and diplomatic tactics needed to achieve it.
“They both want stability and security for Israel, but the playbook is not the same,” Arlett said. “President Trump favors a deal-making, economic-pressure-first approach, while Prime Minister Netanyahu leans toward a sustained military strategy.”
The comments come as Kushner’s latest talks with Israel and Hamas ended without a breakthrough on the proposed Trump Gaza plan【7316759430654740078†L15-L16】.
Analysts say the tactical split could complicate future US-Israel coordination if Trump returns to the White House, especially with ceasefire talks in the Middle East at a critical stage.
