Islamabad: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics has released the results of the country’s new census. According to official figures, Pakistan’s population has exceeded 240 million. Punjab is the most populous province while Balochistan is among the less populous provinces. A 10% increase in urban population has been recorded while the rural population has slightly decreased. The government announced that this census will be useful for future development planning. Experts have given positive indicators regarding the population in this decade.
