Islamabad Airport Issues NOTAM: All Aug 13 Flights Must Carry Extra Fuel Due to Aug 14 Air Rehearsals

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a NOTAM instructing all flights arriving at Islamabad International Airport on August 13 to carry additional fuel.
According to the NOTAM, flights may be required to remain airborne due to air exercises scheduled for August 14 as part of Independence Day celebrations. The additional fuel requirement has been issued in view of possible delays in takeoffs and landings.
All aircraft captains have been instructed to ensure that the required additional fuel is carried on board.
Sources said airspace over Islamabad will be restricted for specific time windows due to rehearsals for the August 14 parade and flypast by the Pakistan Air Force.
Passengers traveling on August 13-14 have been advised to confirm flight status with their respective airlines before heading to the airport.
