The government has denied the allegations in a statement issued Friday stating “Similar, baseless allegations concerning YouTube have been made more than once.
Talking to some media persons, Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb refuted the rumors circulating on social media that the government was going to impose tax on YouTubers as well. He said that no such proposal was under consideration in the budget and no such intention was made by the government.
The federal ministers said that the government was making every effort to assist the people in the field of information technology so that the resources for them could be further expanded.
